Q: What’s something you’ve learned about OceanMD that surprised you?
A: I’m pleasantly surprised by how welcoming and collaborative Ocean is. The cross-departmental teamwork and willingness to help one another has been energizing since day one!

Q: What’s a hobby or interest you have that people might not expect?
A: In my spare time, I love to build plastic model kits, like Gundam!

Q: What’s one thing you hope to learn in your first few months at OceanMD?
A: In my first few months, I look forward to learning how OceanMD’s platform integrates with EMRs and healthcare workflows to improve patient care and provider efficiency. I look forward to having a better understanding its interoperability and real-world impact!

Q: What’s a professional accomplishment you’re proud of?
A: One professional accomplishment I’m proud of is when I was an on-the-job trainer and successfully trained a new employee for the first time. It was such a rewarding experience to witness their excitement during those “lightbulb moments”!

Q: If you could instantly master one skill, what would it be?
A: If I could instantly master one skill, it would be the ability to navigate any country effortlessly – speaking the language, understanding the culture, and finding hidden gems. It would make every trip feel like a seamless adventure!

Q: What’s a skill or experience you bring to the team that you’re excited to use?
A: Having lived in multiple cities and with family spread out coast-to-coast, brings an understanding of the diverse experiences and challenges Canadians face with our healthcare system. I’m exciting to bring this perspective to help Team Ocean solve these problems.

Q: What inspired your career path in health tech?
A: I value knowing that my work, in a very small way, can contribute to improving health outcomes for Canadians. Better tools allow physicians to provide improved care and spend more time interacting with patients.
