100’s of healthcare providers added to Ocean: Provincial eReferral updates for ON, NS and BC

Uncategorized

Since the launch of the Ocean Provider Network back in 2015, Ocean has been on a mission to “axe the fax” and eliminate fax machines from healthcare. Now, with over 100,000 eReferrals processed every month, and expansions to provinces across Canada, the momentum is undeniable! If you’re in British Columbia, Ontario, or Nova Scotia, read more to see how you can get started.

Ontario hospitals getting connected

Aligned with Ontario’s “Patient Before Paperwork” plan, several renowned hospitals, specialists, health services, and more, are embracing Ocean and integrating eReferrals into their everyday workflows. Here’s a quick look at some of the recent referral targets that went live over the last few months:

Ocean-Epic eReferral Integration:

  • Scarborough Health Network (SHN) went live with their Kids Care Consultation Clinic across three locations: Birchmount Hospital, Centenary Hospitals and General Hospital. Other listings include their Kids Care Specialty Clinic and Adult Outpatient Mental Health
  • Lakeridge Health Ajax-Pickering Hospital went live with Neurology, Infectious Disease, and their Tuberculosis Clinic
  • Northumberland Hills Hospital went live with Neurology, Rheumatology, Telederm, Genetics, Telemedicine Clinic
  • Women’s College Hospital – Dermatology Clinic

New listings are added to Ocean every single day. If you’re keen to get started with eReferrals, whether it’s sending or receiving, get in touch here!

Nova Scotia making waves with strong eReferral adoption

With over 40K+ eReferrals to date, and thousands now being received weekly, Nova Scotia is fast becoming the world-class example of digital health adoption in Canada! This should be no surprise considering the province’s inspiring commitment to innovation, demonstrated by the recent move to make eReferrals mandatory for surgical referrals and key diagnostic imaging pathways as of April 1, just one year after launching the program. Congratulations to everyone working on the front lines and behind the scenes who are making it happen!
