As we celebrate ten years of providing powerful, integrated solutions for digital healthcare in Canada, we are thrilled to unveil our new brand identity, OceanMD. Along with a new corporate logo and accompanying product logos, you will see this new brand identity reflected in everything we do – from our website to our platform.
Even more importantly, the new OceanMD brand tells the story of Ocean today and the role it is playing as the digital gateway for connected healthcare from coast to coast.
From EMR-Integrated Patient Tablets to the Digital Gateway for Healthcare
The meaning of Ocean (Open Clinical Encounter Assistant Network) reflects a philosophy that continues to underpin everything we do. Our commitment to open standards and a library of shared, editable forms remains. That, combined with our dedication to improving clinical care through secure, cloud-based, integrated digital tools, continues to guide us.
From our start as an EMR-integrated Patient Tablet with a library of 150 editable forms, the Ocean Platform has expanded to now include thousands of forms and a full suite of integrated solutions for patient engagement and tools to support clinical service requests.
Ocean’s reach spans the Canadian healthcare system in several ways, including:
- Over 2,700 clinics and hospitals and tens of thousands of providers across the country use Ocean
- 26 Ocean integrations, with 11 other systems actively working on going live in the coming months using the Ocean FHIR® Integration Layer
- Over 65,000 eReferrals, eConsults, and eOrders that flow through the Ocean Provider Network every month
- Over 1M patients connect with their healthcare providers each month using Ocean
As we look ahead, the OceanMD team is excited to continue our mission to bridge the gaps in healthcare as part of the WELL Health family. Q: Will there be changes to the Ocean product or pricing?
This brand update will not impact or change our product, pricing, or the user experience. All the same tools, features and service you have come to expect from the Ocean Platform will remain. The only change you will notice is an updated logo, and over time, some subtle changes to the colour scheme in the Ocean Platform.

You’ll see these changes rolling out in a number of places, including:
